Ring Size Guide

Three easy methods you can do at home in under 5 minutes — no special tools needed. Getting the right size means your ring fits perfectly from day one.

🧵
String Method
Wrap string around your finger and measure the length.
📄
Paper Strip
Cut a strip of paper, wrap it, and measure. Great for wider bands.
💍
Existing Ring
Measure the inner diameter of a ring you already own.
Method 1 — String or thread
✂️
Cut
A thin strip of string ~10cm
👆
Wrap
Snugly around your finger
📏
Measure
The length in mm
1
Cut a thin strip of string or thread
About 10cm long is enough. A thin strip works better — aim for 3–4mm wide so it sits on your finger the way a ring band would.
2
Wrap snugly around the base of your finger
Wrap around the exact finger and hand you plan to wear the ring on. The string should feel comfortable — not tight, not loose.
Important: Make sure the string passes over your knuckle too. The ring needs to fit over your knuckle, which is usually wider than the base of your finger.
3
Mark where the string meets
Use a pen to mark the exact point where the string overlaps — this marks the full circumference of your finger.
4
Measure the length with a ruler
Lay the string flat and measure from the end to your mark in millimetres. This is your finger circumference.
Tip: Measure 2–3 times and take the average. Fingers vary slightly between attempts.
5
Match your measurement to the size chart
Use the Size Chart tab to find your ring size in HK, US, UK, and EU sizing. If you fall between two sizes, always go up.
⚠️ Best time to measure
Fingers change throughout the day. Measure in the afternoon when fingers are at their natural size. Avoid measuring first thing in the morning, after exercise, or in cold weather — fingers will be smaller and your ring may end up too loose.
Method 2 — Paper strip
📄
Cut
A 1cm wide strip of A4 paper
🤞
Wrap & Mark
Around your finger, mark the overlap
📏
Measure
End to mark in mm
1
Cut a thin strip of paper
About 1cm wide and 10cm long. A strip from a standard A4 sheet works perfectly. Straight edges give a more accurate result.
2
Wrap around your finger and mark the overlap
Wrap snugly around the base of your finger, making sure it passes over your knuckle. Mark where the paper overlaps with a pen.
Tip: The paper should feel like a comfortable ring — not digging in, but not spinning freely either.
3
Remove and measure flat
Carefully slide the paper off and lay it flat. Measure from the end to your mark in millimetres — this is your finger circumference.
4
Find your size in the chart
Open the Size Chart tab and match your circumference to your ring size. When between sizes, always go up.
⚠️ Best time to measure
Measure in the afternoon. Cold weather and mornings make fingers smaller. Always go up if between sizes.
Method 3 — Use an existing ring
💍
Find
A ring that fits the right finger perfectly
📐
Measure
Inner diameter across the centre in mm
📊
Match
To the size chart
1
Find a ring that fits the correct finger perfectly
Choose a ring that fits comfortably on the same finger and hand you plan to wear your new ring on. It should slide over your knuckle easily but not fall off when relaxed.
Important: Your left and right ring fingers are usually different sizes. Always use the correct finger and hand.
2
Measure the inner diameter
Place the ring flat and measure across the inside from one inner edge to the opposite, through the very centre. Measure in millimetres.
Tip: Even 0.5mm matters for ring fit — measure carefully at the widest point of the opening.
3
Match your diameter to the size chart
Open the Size Chart tab and look up your inner diameter (mm) in the Diameter column to find your HK, US, UK, and EU ring size.
⚠️ Important
This method is only accurate if the existing ring fits perfectly on the correct finger. Even slightly loose or tight will give a wrong reading. When in doubt, confirm with the string method.

⚠️ Between two sizes?
Always choose the larger size. A slightly large ring can be resized down easily. A ring that's too tight is uncomfortable to wear and harder to adjust. For a surprise gift, the average HK women's size is 12–13 and men's is 18–20.

22 11 64 20.6 64.6

How to read this: Find your circumference or diameter (mm) and read across for your HK size. A letter (e.g. "N") = UK sizing. A decimal number (e.g. "6.5") = US sizing. If between two sizes, always go up.

🌡️
Best time to measure
Measure in the afternoon when fingers are at their natural size. Morning and cold weather make fingers smaller; heat and exercise make them larger.
↕️
Always go up if between sizes
A slightly large ring can be resized down. A ring that's too tight is uncomfortable and harder to adjust. When in doubt, go up.
🖐️
Left vs. right hand
Your left and right ring fingers are usually different sizes — sometimes by a full size. Always measure the specific finger on the specific hand you'll wear it on.
💍
Wide bands fit smaller
If ordering a band 6mm or wider, consider going up half a size. Wide bands grip the finger more than slim ones and can feel tighter at the same nominal size.
